Cork University Hospital Warns of Long Delays At The Emergency Department

Visitor restrictions are currently in place at the Rehabilitation units at St. Finbarr's Hospital
Cork University Hospital is appealing to people with less urgent needs not to present at the Emergency Department
CUH Management say the ED has been extremely busy over the last number of weeks with 424 new patients presenting on Monday and Tuesday alone of this week..
It's projected that 170 patients will present to the Emergency Department today for review and treatment and due to this increased level of activity and subsequent admissions, patients are being advised that they will face delays
The situation is being treated as a priority by Hospital Management who have taken steps to address the issue but the public are asked to explore other options available to them prior to attending the ED..

Visitor restrictions are currently in place at the Rehabilitation units at St. Finbarr's Hospital, due to a recent outbreak of the winter vomiting bug and the flu
The affected wards are St. Olivers, St. Clares and the Stroke Rehabilitation Unit.
Visitors are requested not to attend the unit unless their visit is absolutely essential. These restrictions have been applied with immediate effect.
