Cork Warned Of Possible Flooding As Storm Brian Hits On Friday

The City Council are warning of possible flooding at Morrisons Island, South Terrace And Wandesford Quay on Friday due to a combination of high tides and Storm Brian.

Low lying areas of the city escaped flooding during Storm Ophelia when high tide passed without incident.

High tide is expected on Friday between 5.30 and 7.30pm and the council are urging residents and businesses in the area to be prepared for possible flooding.

The local authority say they will be monitoring the storm surge model over the next 24 hours and will issue a further update tomorrow.
