Cork To Be Well Represented In The GALA LGBT Awards In Mansion House In Dublin Today

The awards honour those who work for a better future for LGBT+ people in Ireland and worldwide
Among the nominees is Orla Egan who runs Cork LGBT digital archive, shes up for a Digital Change Maker award. The project aims to preserve, digitise, share and display information in relation to the history of the LGBT communities in Cork.
Speaking to RedFM News this morning Orla Egan says its important the history of the LGBT community is remembered and celebrated;
Gay Project and Up Youth Group Cork are both up for the Community Organisation of the Year - paid staff award. LINC Drama Group is a nominee in the Arts/Entertainment category and Esther Young ofLINC is nominated in the LGBT+ Young Trailblazer category.
Former Cork footballer Valerie Mulcahy is also nominated for a Sports Award.
