Cork woman speaks out about having ovarian cancer

A Cork woman has spoken about her diagnosis of ovarian cancer which came when she was pregnant. June Fenney says was just 29 years of age when during the third trimester of her pregnancy six years ago she began to experience a lot of abdomen and pelvic pain. She underwent a huge amount of tests and doctors eventually put the pain down to her preganncy however three weeks before her due date she was admitted to hospital and underwent a thorough scan and doctors found a large cist. June was admitted for further tests and was extremely lucky as her cancer was caught very early due to her pregnancy She subsequently co-founded OvaCare and the group are hosting a free patient and information day for all women on Saturday 11th April in the Clarion Hotel.
