Cork woman thanks public following search for husband

Diarmuid Twomey went missing before Christmas last year.

A Cork woman has moved to thank the public for their support in the search for her missing husband. 

Diarmuid Twomey was last seen just days before Christmas while walking home from a family party and his disappearance sparked one of the biggest community searches in recent times Leeside. 

The 31-year-old's body was evetually discovered at the end of January in a slurry pit on a farm near Whitchuch after almost a six-week search involving gardaí, locals, and volunteers.

His wife Ciara Byrne says she's still awaiting to hear about the circumstances which lead up to her husband's death in an inquest but she says one theory is that he may have developed hypotyhermia.
