Corkman due before court after Cobh stabbing

A Corkman is due to go on trial today charged with the attempted murder of his partner in a knife attack that left her fighting for her life with 14 wounds.

Patrick O'Rourke from Cobh is due to appear at the Central Criminal Court in Dublin today charged with the attempted murder of Donna Foster in Cobh.
 The state alleges that the 63-year-old attempted to murder Donna Foster in a knife attack at the home they shared in the Cork Harbour town, on August 11th 2015.

The trial is expected to last several days once a jury has been sworn in to hear the case against the accused, a taxi driver.
