Cork's 1916 celebrations Apolitical

The County Mayor says the planned centenary celebrations Leeside are for all parties and none.

The comments come ahead of the first state ceremony in Cork to mark the 1916 Rising which will take place on Easter Monday. 

A synchronised wreath laying ceremony will take place on the Grande Parade at the time the first shots of the 1916 Rising were fired .

The day's events will also see the unveiling of a commemorative plaque, speeches, music and the raising of the National flag with a reading of the Proclamation.
