Cork's Fitzgerald's Park has been officially opened to the public.
The revamped Fitzgerald's Park has been officially opened to the public. The 2.3 million euro project has allowed the installation of an avatar-inspired garden and the main aspects of Diarmuid Gavin’s Sky Garden. The iconic flying pod situated on the riverbank will be on show whilst a performance area at the front of the park will host a range of family friendly activities all weekend. It's hoped the newlook design of the park will impress the public after a series of stumbling blocks over the past two years due to the breakdown in relations between SkyGarden designer Diarmuid Gavin and the City Council. Speaking to RedFM News Project engineer for the redevelopment Aoife O'Mahony says she hopes people will use the park to its full potential going forward: Click PLAY to hear audio
