Cork's "New Poor" using Cork Simon and Penny Dinners

Cork's "New Poor" are being forced to use emergency services in the city such as Cork Simon and Penny Dinners.

That's according to Cork Simon which says the majority of people accessing their services are not homeless...

The organisation has appealed to the Government not to forget those who have fallen through the cracks of the country's economic recovery.

Cork Penny Dinners has added their voice to the call and says they are feeding up to 100 people within an hour of opening their doors each day.

Speaking to RedFM News Simon's Dermot Kavanagh, says the organisation is seeing more and more people on the edge of homelessness:
