Cork's RedFM Listeners Raise €50,000 For Saint Vincent de Paul

Listeners to Cork's RedFM raised over €50,000 in donations by filling the Big Red Bus three times over in the past week

In the past week RedFM's double decker bus was parked in the city centre, Bandon and Midleton and was inundated with hundreds of people arriving laden down with non-perishable items to help feed families this Christmas.

The initiative came about after an appeal on RedFM News by St. Vincent de Paul for food this Christmas rather than toys...

The charity warned that people were cutting back on food and fuel this year in order to keep their heads above water.

Speaking to RedFM News Regional Vice President of St Vincent de Paul Brendan Dempsey says they're focusing on food and fuel this Christmas
