Council calls on Irish Rail to clarify which Cork Stations will be unmanned

Fears have been expressed about plans by Iarnrod Eireann to introduce unmanned train stations in Cork.
Cork County Council has sought clarification from the company after it emerged that Charleville, Banteer and Millstreet could be among the stations in Cork affected by the change.
Local councillors are concerned that the move will affect elderly people in particular who may find the proposed automated ticketing system confusing and difficult to use.
Ianroid Eireann say they hope to deploy staff from stations to provide improved assistance for mobility impiared customers and customer service on trains as many trains are currently driver only.
