Council refuses planning permission for new Cork Hotel

Planning permission for a new Hotel on the South Terrace has been rejected.
The Evening Echo has reported that the City Council rejected plans from London Based Carra Shore Ltd - to develop a row of protected Georgian Houses into a 146 bed Hotel.
Plans included retention of red-brick facade of the three buildings at numbers 31, 32 and 33 South Terrace, however partial demolition and extension of the protected buildings would also have been required.
The development would have included meeting rooms, conference rooms, and a bar, as well as offering almost 150 extra Hotel beds in Cork.
