Counting has finished for the day in the Ireland South Constituency

A recount was called by Sinn Féin after outgoing MEP Liadh Ní Riada fell short of securing the fifth so-called 'Brexit seat' by just 326 votes.
It emerged today that additional staff have been drafted in from Cork City and County Councils as well as from the Courts Services which means the five seat holders should be decided by the end of this week.
A clearer picture of the state of play is expected to emerge tomorrow when the battle for seats continues.
Speaking to RedFM News Cork Sinn Féin TD Jonathan O'Brien says the recount was necessary:
