County Council invite tenders for Camden Fort Meagher

Cork County Council has invited tenders for future uses of Camden Fort Meagher.

The 17th Century Fort located in Crosshaven, is set on a 45 acre site on Ram's Head and tourism, business and conference use are all on the table.

The Evening Echo reports that the local authority aims to develop an overall master plan throughout 2017, with a finalised document ready by October.

Successful applicants will be required to integrate the site into Cork's harbour, maritime and military history, as well as increasing connectivity for pedestrians and vehicles between the fort and the wider area.
