County Council Issues Warnings To Bathers This Evening Not To Enter Water At Courtmacsherry Bay Beach Or Coolmain Beach

Due to a fall in water quality, Cork County Council has issued warnings to bathers not to enter the water at Courtmacsherry Bay Beach, or Coolmain Beach, and the surrounding areas
A suspected break in a sewerage main in Timoleague is believed to be the cause of the polution issues, at both beaches.
Irish Water is investigating the matter and working to repair the break.
In the meantime tankers are onsite to collect wastewater and minimise further impact.
It is likely that the Bathing Prohibition Notice will remain in place for a number of days.
Bathing water will be tested again early next week.
