County Council launches "Be Proud, Be Sound" campaign

Cork County Council are appealing to people to keep Cork clean.
The local authority have launched the "Be Proud, Be Sound" campaign ahead of the summer to ask people to leave no trace when they visit popular tourist spots.
Councillors have called for County Hall to install more bins and public toilets at beaches after reports of long queues, littering and full bins at the weekend.
Council Chief Executive Tim Lucey has ruled out the provision of more bins and is urging people to be responsible.
"Plan your day, bring your litter home.
"Bins are there for the purpose of small items certainly but if the bins are full - we have a cleaning regime that cleans them twice a day, sometimes three times a day, but it's natural with more and more people out on our streets and out on our public parks they will become full and we don't want people leaving the stuff at the side of the bins.
"Please - bring it home with you."
