County Council To Seek A Court Order For The Removal Of A Mobile Home In Beechfield Estate, Fermoy

Emma O'Driscoll says she, her partner and their three children have been on a waiting list for a house for years

Cork County Council is to seek a court order today to remove a mobile home installed in a housing estate in Fermoy

The case came before the circuit court last week but was adjourned until today and the family living in the mobile home in Beechfield estate have been ordered to appear in court

Emma O'Driscoll says she, her partner and their three children - all under the age of five - have been on a waiting list for a house for years and they're on the brink of homelessness

However residents say it's a step too far and they mounted a protest last week when a crane delivered a mobile home next to a caravan which had been there for the past two years.

Yesteray they lifted their blockade as a "gesture of goodwill" to allow the truck used to deliver the mobile home to the green to leave the estate

Speaking to RedFM News Emma O'Driscoll says she can't move the mobile home until the County Council provide an alternative accommodation solution for them:
