Simon Coveney says the future Taoiseach of Ireland must be properly tested.
Addressing a campaign rally in Athlone last night, the Housing Minister said he didn't mind if he was currently behind in the leadership race.
He said there was plenty of time to catch up - and added that the next two weeks are vital to ensure the country gets the right man for the job:
