Crews returning to Naval Base have to sleep on Ship as no appropriate accommodation is available

Calls are being made for appropriate accommodation for naval vessel crews in the Haulbowline Headquarters.

The association which represents the Defence Forces PDFORRA says crews can be on long term patrols which can range from a couple of weeks on Irish waters to much longer in the case of missions further afield. 

They say when the ship returns to the naval base to be refueled, resupplied and repaired, crews must remain on the vessel to sleep and is something that needs to addressed.
