Crisis in Home Care support Leeside

Age Action Ireland is calling on the government to invest further into Home Help across Cork after home help for the elderly and disabled was reduced to 30 minutes a day
The Government needs to make an immediate and substantial investment in Home Help across Cork City and County.
That's according to Age Action Ireland who say since 2011 the HSE has delivered fewer hours to fewer people, and urgent action needs to be taken to redress the crisis.
The charity says elderly and disabled people Leeside have had the amount of care they get from home helps reduced to just 30 minutes a day.
Last year Minister Simon Harris announced additional funding for home help services, but the organisation warned that thousands of older people will still not get the suppor they need.
Speaking to RedFM News Age Action Spokesperson Justin Moran says the Department of Health and HSE do not seem to understand the scale of the crisis.
