CUH Issue Appeal For Public To Attend GP Before Presenting at A& E
Management at Cork University Hospital have issued a request to the public to contact their GP before presenting at the Emergency Department.
The CUH has been extremely busy over the past week, with 1,369 patients attending the ED since Wednesday 6th of September.
Management have projected that 200 patients will present to the ED today for review and treatment.
Due to the increased level of activity, patients presenting with minor ailments have been experiencing long delays.
Hospital management say they are doing everything possible to minimize the delays but they are requesting that, where appropriate, the public explore all options before attending the A&E unit.
