CUH most overcrowded in the country for second day running

Cork University Hospital is the most overcrowded in the country for the second day running.

According to the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation, CUH has 36 people being treated on trolleys in the Emergency department today, while the Mercy University Hospital has 17.

The trolleywatch report shows almost 500 people are awaiting admission to hospitals across the country.

Earlier this month the INMO confirmed that their members were to be balloted for industrial action as they say Irish nurses have suffered chronic, persistent overcrowding with no extra staff.
