CUH Oncology Nurses to begin work to rule this week
Nurses at the CUH Oncology/Radiotherapy ward will begin a work to rule on Wednesday 5th of October.
The action is as a result of a dispute in relation to what they say is on-going inadequate and unsafe nurse staffing levels on the ward.
The Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation members will withdraw from clerical and support duties to focus only on direct nursing care.
The INMO say they have been in discussion with hospital management regarding the issue since 2015, raising members concerns about the unsafe staffing levels.
Speaking to RedFM news Mary Rose Carroll from the INMO says nurses feel their concerns have not been adequately addressed by hospital management:
