CUH urges public to visit GP before Emergency Department

Cork University Hospital is urging the public to examine all options before presenting at the Emergency Department.
Cork University Hospital has the worst overcrowding in the country.
According to figures released by the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation there are 37 patients waiting on trolleys at the CUH.
These latest figures come on foot of the CUH offering an apology to the public for the long delays being experienced at the Emergency Department.
The Mercy University Hospital has 13 people waiting for hospital beds and the INMO says in total there are 339 people being treated on trolleys around the country.
This number is an increase of 110 on yesterday's figure.
