Cystic Fibrosis Unit for Adults opens in CUH today

Cork University Hospital will finally open the 20 bed cystic fibrosis unit today following months of delays.
The 2.3 million unit was due to open in March following years of fund raising by Build4life
The HSE said staff shortages was the cause of the delay but the dedicated adult Cystic Fibrosis and respiratory ward can now open following a successful recruitment campaign.
CUH has the second largest adult CF centre in Ireland and caters for the needs of over 160 adult CF patients from across Munster.
Speaking to RedFM news, Joe Brown from Buid4life says they are delighted the unit is opening today, but it has been a long time in the making:
