Dáil To Debate A Motion Opposing Plans To Close An Post's Cork Mail Centre

240 jobs will be lost when the centre closes in March 2020.
The Dáil will debate a motion opposing plans to close An Post's Cork Mail Centre this afternoon.
The motion will call on the government to instruct An Post to reverse the closure and enter into negotiations with the Communications Works Union to expand the company's parcel delivery services without job losses.
The semi state company is seeking to make €11 million of savings by closing the centre in Little Island, which it says is operating at less than 25% capacity, and says the money will be invested in its parcel service in Cork and the surrounding area.
240 jobs will be lost when the centre closes in March 2020.
Speaking to RedFM News, Cork Solidarity TD Mick Barry says An Post should invest immediately in its Cork centre
