Date of commencement of work on Events Centre eagerly awaited
The Lord Mayor of Cork says he's looking forward to hearing when work will begin in earnest by the developers behind Cork's Events Centre.
BAM are to address the City Council this evening after it was announced last month that new internal designs for the 6,000 seat Events Centre had been drawn up and further funding would be needed.
It's emerged that the State may need to allocate a further €10 million to the €20 million of public funding already sanctioned to get the project off the ground.
At tonight's Council meeting BAM are expected to produce internal designs, final costings as well as brief councillors on a definitive timeline for the stalled project.
Speaking to RedFM News Lord Mayor Cllr Des Cahill says he wants to know what date work will get underway on the Events Centre .
