Day one complete for students

There's relief for students across Cork this evening as day one of the state exams is over. Over 13,000 students across the city and county turned over their papers at half past nine this morning. This year independent experts sat the papers in advance to identify any mistakes and prevent a repeat of the amount of errors found on last year's exam papers.
