Householders have until the stroke of midnight to register with Irish water to be eligible to apply for the €100 Water Conservation Grant.
The grant will be paid by the Department of Social Protection on behalf of the Department of the Environment, Community and Local Government.
Even if householders are not connected to the public drinking water or wastewater services they are still entitled to the grant and still must register before tomorrow.
The €100 will not be taken from a bill but the Department of Social Protection will be in touch by late August with those who have registered about applying for the grant.
Irish Water say that 1.32 million households have signed up with the utility but that they fear three in ten could miss out on the grant by failing to register before midnight.
