Death of horse on northside of city described as sickening and horrendous

That's the response from the ISPCA following the death of a horse.
The horse was discovered by residents in Hawthorne Mews in Dublin Hill after it had collapsed from exhaustion after it was released from a sulky cart.
According to witnesses the drivers took the harness off the horse and left the scene leaving the horse to die.
The ISPCA are calling for stricter regulations on sulky racing to protect the welfare of the animals.
Gardai in Cork have launched an investigation into the horses death and are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
Speaking to RedFM News, Lisa O'Donovan of the ISPCA says the drivers of the sulky had disregard for the animal.
