Death toll from Hurricane Matthew rising
The number of people who are now known to have died from Hurricane Matthew in Haiti stands at nearly 600.
The storm, which is carrying winds of up to 190 kilometres per hour, is brushing past the east coast of Florida, towards Georgia.
President Barack Obama has declared a state of emergency in Florida, Georgia and South Carolina
He says says those in its path need to be aware of the massive risk it poses, largely due to storm surges:
