Decision on proposed incinerator for Cork Harbour has been deferred once again

It's the 9th time a decision has been deferred since an application was first made almost two years ago.
An Bord Pleanala were due to provide a final decision on the 160 million euro incinerator on December 19th.
An application by Indaver for the 240 tonne waste to energy facility was first proposed in January 2016 with a decision due in July that year.
However the application has been met with several obstacles with objections from residents in the area as well as concerns over helicopter safety in the nearby Haulbowline naval base.
Additionally An Bord Pleanala sought further information on the facility from Indaver which was brought before an oral hearing earlier this year.
According to a report in the Irish Examiner a new decision date has yet to be decided.
