Decline in schoolgirls receiving the cervical cancer vaccine

It comes following concerns from parents and reports of the schoolgirls suffering adverse side-effects after the jab
A Cork based consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist has expressed concern about the large drop in schoolgirls receiving the cervical cancer vaccine.
Concerns have been raised by many parents in Cork about the Gardasil vaccine with some claiming their daughters have suffered adverse side-effects after the jab.
The Irish Cancer Society rolled out a nationwide information campaign on the vaccine and a public talk was hosted at Oriel House in Ballincollig last Wednesday night
Dr Matt Hewitt who is based at Cork University Maternity Hospital says the fears surrounding the vaccine are unfounded and he says two large scale studies have both concluded that the vaccine is safe..
Speaking to RedFM News Dr Hewitt says cervical cancer kills and it is an entirely preventable disease.
