Decrease in binge drinking among teenagers

That's according to Drinkaware who say parents talking to their children about alcohol has contributed to the reduction

26 schools in Cork formed part of a recent study on how young people consume alcohol, and according to the results 83% of teenagers between 15 and 17 had consumed alcohol at least once.

Of the students surveyed 50% admitted to drinking between one and five units of alcohol in an ordinary week.

Speaking to RedFM News Liam Twomey of Drinkaware says he believes continued discussion will help to battle the problem of binge drinking.
