Defence Department says a no-fly zone may have to be imposed around incinerator site

The move may have be needed to combat industrial exhaust plumes.
The Defence Department says a no-fly zone may have to be imposed around the proposed incinerator site in Ringaksiddy due to industrial exhaust plumes.
The Naval Service and the Irish Air Corps presented their observations on the proposed incinerator today at the Oral Hearing which is continuing at Carrigaline Court Hotel.
The report also outlined additional restrictions on operations at Haulbowlline Naval Base and Spike Island which would result in no possible operations to the Naval base during southerly wind conditions
The Department also raised concerns about local road access in the event of an accident at Indaver. Their report states that access to Haulbowline would be cut off effectively trapping their personnel on the island.
Indaver have strongly defended their plans and are on record as saying that the N28 makes the site a perfect choice for the incinerator
