The initial deadline date for the €80 million euro project was earmarked for June 18th

It's been revealed the venue not be ready to host the Munster Finals as planned due to commission works that need to be completed.

A new date of July 7th has been confirmed and as a result the first game in the new stadium will not take place until mid July.

Almost 90,000 sports fans were expected to flock to Cork for the finals which would have brought a boost to the local economy and speaking to RedFM News Conor Healy of Cork Chamber says while the delay is disappointing, the venue will bring significant business to Cork.
