Demand for homeless services is on the rise

That's according to Focus Ireland who has seen a spike in the number of people accessing it's services.

The charity works with homeless people and prevents people on the brink of homelessness.

Figures show almost 10,000 people across Ireland are homeless with 3755 of those being children.

In Cork, 300 adults were hoemless at the end of February.

This weekend Focus Ireland is holding it's Great Get Together campaign and is encouraging people Leeside to host an event in a bid to raise funds for it's services.

Speaking to RedFM News, Rebecca Reynolds of Focus Ireland says family homelessness is hugely on the increase.

The event will run until Sunday and if you would like to host an event, you can register at focirsireland.ie and download a host pack.
