Demand For Treatment Services For Heroin Use In Cork And Kerry Increased Five-fold Over the Last Decade

500 people are being treated for heroin addiction across the region with the majority of cases in Cork. 

That's according to the Coordinator of Drug and Alcohol Services for Cork and Kerry who says that they're treating around 500 people for heroin addiction across the region with the majority of cases in Cork. 

However the organisation says while the numbers seeking help have been steady they haven't noticed an increase in heroin use on the street.
