That's how nurses in Cork University Hospital have described conditions in the emergency department today as dozens lie on trolleys waiting for a bed.
The INMO are holding an urgent meeting with HSE officials in the CUH this morning where the overcrowding crisis rumbles on with figures set to worsen in the coming days.
The Health Minister has pledged a further 199 beds by the end of the month however staff in CUH say they're needed right now, as patients are suffering and medical professionals are struggling to control the situation.
Speaking to RedFM News nurse in CUH A&E Michelle Kingston says the scenes in the emergency department are worse than people imagine and she says it is like working in a warzone:
