Developer behind plans for Bessborough 'disappointed' planning has been denied

MWB Two Ltd had submitted plans for 179 units on the site of the former Mother and Baby home.
MWB Two Ltd say they understand the objection to the concept of building on a burial ground but say experts have found no evidence to suggest the site of the proposed development contains any undocumented burials.
The developers also say they believe the identification of a burial ground on its land based on what they say is a single interpretation of old Ordance Survey Ireland records is a mistake.
An Bord Pleanála say there's reasonable concerns that the site does contain remains, and believes it would be premature to allow the development to proceed.
