Disqualified driver jailed for driving his car at a man and physically assaulting him

Patrick O'Donoghue, of Millbrook Close, Glanmire has been jailed for a year and banned from driving for seven years
Cork Circuit Criminal Court heard that Patrick O'Donoghue, of Millbrook Close, Glanmire was socialising in the Fob and Gill Pub in Mayfield in the city on the 11th of September, 2016 when he left the pub and knocked a man to the ground in his car.
He then got out of the car and kicked and punched the man.
Judge Sean O'Donnabháin heard that 34 year old O'Donoghue had handed himself in to Mayfield Garda Station on September 15th but had then fled to London.
He was arrested just over a week ago when he arrived back at Cork Airport.
The court also heard the victim had made a full recovery.
