Disused Youghal factory target of arson attacks

Concern has been expressed about a disused factory in Youghal which has been the target of a number of arson attacks in recent years.
Last Saturday the former Seafield Textile Factory which is located beside Perks went on fire again and locals say it is a death trap.
Last year An Bord Pleanala overturned planning permission for the re-development of the former textile factory.
Seafield Partnership, wanted to demolish a house and factory on the site and establish a mixed-use neighbourhood centre, with a discount foodstore, six retail service units, an office unit, restaurant and parking for 178 cars.
However following third-party appeals, a planning inspector recommended refusal, as the scale of development would exceed the neighbourhood use for which the site was zoned.
Speaking on the Neil Prendeville Show on Cork's RedFM Youghal local Sammy Revins says the Council should take over the site:
