Doctor says fears over vaccine are unfounded

A Cork based consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist says fears surrounding the cervical cancer vaccine are unfounded

Concerns have been raised by many parents in Cork about the Gardasil vaccine with some parents saying their  daughters have suffered adverse side-effects of the jab. 

They claim their daughters suffered seizures, fatigue and pain after receiving the injection.

They're calling for more information to be given to families - before they make a decision on whether or not their child should be vaccinated against HPV. 

Dr Matt Hewitt who is based at Cork University Maternity Hospital is attributing the sharp drop in the number of schoolgirls receiving the vaccine to false fears about it's safety
