Domestic Violence awareness campaign to receive six million
Six million euro will be spent on a six year awareness campaign on domestic violence.
The Tanaiste made the announcement at the National Women’s Council AGM earlier, where the Government was accused of failing to deal with the scale of violence against women.
One in five women suffers abuse at the hands of a partner.
Frances Fitzgerald says she hoped the rate would have reduced in recent years.
