That's according to Ireland South MEP Deirdre Clune who has received a direct response from the CEO of Norwegian Air after she wrote to him seeking clarity on the matter.
Norwegian has revealed the cost of grounding its Boeing 737 Max fleet could run to 52 million euro
It's also been revealed that the safety certification process to get the planes back in the sky after a software update is not due to start until the end of April and could take up to 90 days
Norwegian Air's three times weekly transatlantic service from Cork is currently being rerouted to Dublin until the start of July due to a shortage of aircraft following the grounding of Boeing's 737 Max fleet
Speaking to RedFM News in the past few minutes Ireland South MEP Deirdre Clune says this timescale is throwing into doubt the operation of direct transatlantic flights out of Cork by the airline this Summer..
