Dr Pixie supports calorie counts on menus

Cork doctor and television presenter Dr Pixie McKenna has welcomed the Department of Health's planned calorie count plan but says price is the real issue that needs to be tackled. The requirement that all food service outlets display calorie details on menus is expected to be in place by next year. It's hoped the initiative will help in the fight against obesity with 37% of Irish adults currently classed as overweight.
