Driving Tired Is As Dangerous As Driving After Drinking

That's according to the Road Safety Authority

The RSA, Gaelic players association and Women's Gaelic Players Association launched a new campaign yesterday to focus on the importance of staying alert behind the wheel.

The three groups are urging drivers ahead of the Christmas period and as GAA teams start back into pre-season training to recognise the signs of being too tired to drive.

Fatigue is a factor in 20% of driver deaths in Ireland every year. Research also shows that driver collisions are three times more likely to be fatal or result in a serious injury.
