Drug problem highlighted in Shandon
Residents in the Shandon area say drug dealing continues to be a problem there
Dominic Street and Lower John Redmond Street have been identified as two areas that have a particularly high level of drug use.
Gardai say there are up to 700 heroin users in the city and the problem arises when they clampdown on drug use in one area and people find new areas to meet.
Garda patrols in the Shandon area are to be stepped up in an effort to tackle the problem.
