Six died and seven others were injured when it broke away from a fourth floor apartment during a 21st birthday party in the city of Berkeley.
Building inspectors have ordered another balcony in the same block to be removed - because it is also unsafe.
Meanwhile around a thousand people have come together for a vigil in Berkeley this morning to remember those who've died and pray for the injured.
Speaking to RedFM News, County Mayor Alan Coleman says he hopes the support of the Irish people will offer some comfort to the victims' families:
