€2 weekly rent increase proposed for council tenants

It's hoped the money could be ringfenced for use for repairs and modifications for tenants with disabilities. 

A €2 weekly rent increase could be on the cards for council tenants in the city.

It's after a proposal that the money could be ringfenced for use for repairs and modifications for tenants with disabilities. 

Currently the local authority pays a flat rate of €900,000 for it's 9,000 properties in the city and it's hoped adding €2 onto tenants weekly rent could help recoup some this money.
